This is the last track on Part 1 of "Castle of Elephants", which is part of a project called Stoddy Abroad. "Coconut Radio" was fully improvised in studio. Head on over to stoddyabroad.bandcamp.com to hear more!

Stoddy Abroad –
Stoddard "Stoddy" Blackall travels to studios and stages around the world to record impromptu albums in the span of two days. One day to explore the surrounding environment and the next, to record the album! Some songs are written, at most, a day in an advance of recording, and some are improvised on the spot! Bottom line, everything is off the cuff and freshly inspired by his travels.

"Castle of Elephants" was recorded in one 10 hr day at Premises Studios in Hackney, London on April 6th, 2023.

Neil, Premises Engineer, and Simon, his assistant, suggested "Coconut" and "Radio" as song seeds for this improvised song, as heard at the start of this track. I introduced it as "Radio Coconut", which shows you that I didn't know what I was about to play. It turned into "Coconut Radio" before long! Immediately after recording this little ditty, I told Neil, the fabulous engineer that I wanted to shift to the vocal booth and add harmonies. Neil and I vibed nicely through the process and the harmonies flowed out as smoothly as music from, say...coconut radios!
